Girls and boys should be taught separately

Most people agree that girls and boys are different, so they say that because boys and girls are different, they should be taught separately. However, there are also disadvantages to single-sex schools.

On the one hand, if girls and boys are taught separately, they do not distract each other. For this reason, pupils can concentrate more on their studies. What’s more, teachers can change their teaching style to suit their students. Boys and girls learn differently!

On the other hand, students have to learn to live together on the outside world. If they learn separately they prevent boys and girls from learning to work together and have a good socializing. Moreover, if boys and girls are not in the same class it could make them uncomfortable with each other.

In conclusion, I think that women and men should study together because both sexes learn how to cooperate and how to prepare for the real world.

Nowadays the use of the Internet has changed our lives a lot because it offers a lot of websites to help people in different ways.

Firstly people can do their daily shopping. You can buy casual clothes for example boots, dresses and all kind of accessories. Also you can provide ecological vegetables and products from fair trade or high tech gadgets.

Furthermore people are too busy with their studies or the jobs so they can send their messages quicker and easier. In addition, you send the message not individually but also to a great number of friends and relatives at the a some time.

The Internet is very useful to search information about a special topic mainly for the students when they have to do a project.

In conclusion, Internet has changed the traditional methods of communication, of doing shopping or looking for information.

Describe what you would do if you could take a gap year before going to university

I think if I could take a gap year before going to university; I would go to work in touring countries as a waitress.

Firstly, if I could work abroad I would meet a lot of new people and I could practise different languages, mainly the English. Also, I could earn some money and save it to spend with my studies at university.

Secondly, living and working away from home clearly would help me to become more independent and more matured. And I should take my own decisions.

I think that during my gap year I would acquire more knowledge about more countries and their cultures and have a unique experience living on my own. When I have developed a bit further I will be more concentrated and study better at university.

It’s a good idea to participate in a Gorilla Fun Run. Last month I took part in a Marathon and I prepared well. If you want to be fit you shouldn’t eat junk food and you shouldn’t smoke. Also, you should have a balanced diet and you should go to the gym. You should cut chocolate out of your diet now. You can calculate your BMI if you know you height and your weight.

Next summer I’m going to swim in the North Sea because the cold water is healthy.

I hope you get a good place in the race after training so hard.

A frightening experience

Last year I had a horrible experience. I was staying with my boyfriend in Port Aventura during the Halloween festival. We has been walking and thinking of which attraction we were going to get on when suddenly we saw four strange monsters.

We immediately started to scream and run because we were alone. At first we hid in a toilet but the monsters followed us. I was frightened and petrified because it was dark and nobody was there.

But after five minutes when the coast was clear we decided to go out and went to the twain door, but there were the strange creatures again. What a big surprise!

As they came closer to us, and took off the costumes, we realised they were some friends who wanted to make fun. We’ll definitely think twice about going to Port Aventura at Halloween in future!

How has air travel changed the way people spend their holidays?

In my opinion, air travel has changed a lot due to changes in technology and scientific advances, for example, the speed, of the vehicles or transports, the large number of airports, so people can have better holidays…

Firstly, in the past people didn't travel for a long distance because experts hadn’t developed technologies or appropriate resources, so people didn't travel to many places. Moreover, trips were more expensive.

Secondly, if technology and science advance, holidays change too. There are more airports in the big cities and low cost flights, so tickets are cheaper and people prefer to go to Hawaii, India... and other distant countries. 

In conclusion, I think holidays are nicer because people can travel more easily to different countries in a shorter time. So people can visit the world and know different cultures and traditions from different places.

My aunt’s description

My aunt Maria is old, she is sixty years old. She has got blonde wavy hair and her eyes are blue. She dresses always old-fashioned, she wears a skirt and a blouse. She is a secretary and she works in an office in a bank.

My aunt is very generous because she likes helping poor people. I use to visit her many times in summer, but she is very talkative, and she explains me old stories. She is very intelligent and creative because she has been painting pictures for a long time. When I’m not next to her I miss her because she is good fun and warm-hearted.

She helps me with my problems at school and she usually gives great advice. She is a great aunt, and a good friend too.
